How Potions Work in Magic Loot

Potions are consumable buffs brewed at the Alchemy station from materials dropped by enemies. Unlike Wands and Armor, which provide permanent stat increases, Potions are used up when consumed and need to be brewed repeatedly from materials you collect in the dungeon.

Each potion provides a specific temporary effect that enhances your wizard for a limited duration. The three verified potions are Fire Arrow (damage buff), Long-long Arms (increased pickup range), and Water Orb (underwater breathing). These effects are confirmed from in-game sources and represent the core brewing system available to all players.

Potions are unlocked based on your Rebirth level. The verified recipes on this page are available immediately at Rebirth 0, but higher-tier potions require multiple Rebirths to unlock. This gate creates a progression incentive beyond just the Power multiplier.

Partial data

The game has more potions in player searches (Dragon Breath, Night Wraith, Radiant Sword, Solar Flare, Lotus Bloom, Frost Thorns, Earth Spike, Meteorite, Tornado, Ice Turtle, Lithe) — but no recipe for any of them is published in the sources we cross-check. They are 待确认 until verified from in-game screenshots.

Brewing Strategy

Potions should be brewed strategically, not randomly. Each brew consumes valuable materials that could otherwise be sold for Coins. The general principle is to brew with a purpose — only brew potions when you have a specific goal, such as a boss fight or dungeon push.

Materials drop from enemies in the dungeon, and different enemies drop different materials. Blueberry, Withered Mushroom, Golden Tooth, Goblin Finger, Copper Earring, Dwarf Emblem, and Furnace Core are the 7 verified World 1 materials. They are the ingredients for the 3 verified potion recipes.

Because Potions are consumables, you will need to farm specific materials repeatedly to maintain a steady supply. Plan your brewing based on which effects you use most frequently, and always keep some materials in reserve for emergency brews.

Alchemy System Deep Dive

The Alchemy station is located in the hub area and serves as the central brewing facility for all potions in Magic Loot. When you interact with the station, you see a list of available recipes, their ingredient requirements, and the Coin cost per brew. The interface shows which recipes are unlocked based on your current Rebirth level.

Each potion has a Magic Score that reflects its brewing complexity and effect strength. Higher Magic Score generally indicates a more powerful potion with rarer ingredient requirements. The Magic Score also influences the brewing animation and the visual feedback when the potion is completed.

The brewing process is instantaneous — once you have the required materials and Coins, you can brew immediately without waiting. However, the materials must be in your inventory, not stored elsewhere. This means you need to carry the specific ingredients with you when you visit the Alchemy station.

When to Use Each Potion

Each of the three verified potions serves a distinct purpose and should be used in specific situations:

  • Fire Arrow — Use before boss fights or when pushing into difficult dungeon stages. The damage buff significantly increases your clear speed and reduces the risk of dying mid-run. This is your primary combat potion for challenging content.
  • Long-long Arms — Use for efficient farming runs where you want to clear dungeons faster. The increased pickup range means you spend less time running to collect loot, which translates to more runs per hour. This is your productivity potion.
  • Water Orb — Use when exploring underwater areas or specific content that requires breathing. Without this potion, you cannot access certain submerged sections of the dungeon. This is your utility potion for specific content gates.

The key is matching the potion to the activity. Don't brew Fire Arrow for farming runs where you don't need the extra damage. Don't brew Long-long Arms for boss fights where pickup range doesn't matter. Save your materials for the right situations.

Material Farming Optimization

Efficient material farming requires knowing which enemies drop which ingredients. The 7 verified World 1 materials drop from different enemy types in the dungeon, meaning you can target specific materials by focusing on specific enemies or dungeon sections.

Blueberry and Withered Mushroom are common drops from early-stage enemies, making them relatively easy to farm. Golden Tooth and Goblin Finger drop from mid-stage enemies and require slightly more Power to farm efficiently. Copper Earring, Dwarf Emblem, and Furnace Core drop from late-stage enemies and bosses, making them the bottleneck materials for advanced brewing.

The best farming strategy is to run the dungeon stages that contain the enemies dropping your target materials. Don't just run random stages hoping for the right drops — identify which stages have which enemies, then farm those stages specifically. This targeted approach significantly increases your material yield per run.

Potions and the Collection Index

Some materials are also tracked in the Collection Index, which creates a decision point when you pick up rare drops. Should you keep the material for brewing, or should you claim it for the Index milestone and permanent backpack expansion?

The general rule is to prioritize Collection Index milestones first, because they provide permanent progression benefits (backpack expansion). Once you have completed the relevant milestones, you can safely keep all future materials for brewing.

However, if you have an immediate brewing need (such as a boss fight coming up), you may want to delay Index claiming temporarily. The Index doesn't disappear — you can always claim milestones later. But potions are consumables, so if you need the effect now, brew now and claim the Index later.
