How Materials Work in Magic Loot

Materials are items dropped by enemies in the dungeon that serve ascrafting ingredients for consumable potions at the Alchemy station. Because potions are used up, you will need to farm the same materials repeatedly to keep a steady supply.

Some materials are also logged in the Collection Index to expand your backpack storage. You start with only two inventory slots, which severely limits how much loot you can carry per dungeon run. Every Index milestone you complete permanently expands your storage.

Loot does not pick itself up. You have to walk over drops and press E to grab them. Materials that drop on the floor must be picked up manually, so pay attention as you clear each dungeon room. A full bag means you leave valuable loot behind on every stage.

A few of the stronger potion recipes stay locked until you have completed certain Rebirth levels. Check the live effect text in the alchemy interface before brewing — Beta potion effects beyond the verified 3 are not documented.

World 1 Materials — Verified

These 7 materials are confirmed from the AllThings. How beginner guides. They are the ingredients for the 3 verified potion recipes (Fire Arrow, Long-long Arms, Water Orb).

The Collection Index System

The biggest early bottleneck is your backpack. It starts with room for only two items. You expand it by filling out your Index, a collection log that tracks the materials and Potions you discover. Each time you reach a milestone in the Index, your backpack limit increases by one slot.

How to Expand Backpack Storage

  1. Open the Index menu from the left-side menu and check the Materials tab. It shows how many entries you have collected and which ones you still need.
  2. Enter the dungeon and pick up materials you have not logged yet, such as Goblin Finger, Copper Earring, or Furnace Core.
  3. Press the yellow Return button to head back to the hub. Your newly discovered materials now register in the Index.
  4. Open the Index again and press "Click to claim" at the milestone bar. A "Backpack storage increased by 1" message confirms it worked.

Some Index entries also require crafted potions, so brewing feeds directly into more storage. Because bigger bags let you carry more loot per run, treating the Index as a priority pays off quickly.

Elemental Shards — 待确认

Ice / Dark / Light / Fire Shard names appear in player searches but no verified source publishes their drop source, rarity, or which potions they brew. Treat any third-party recipe using these (e.g. "5 Dark Shards → Night Wraith") as unverified until you see it in your live alchemy interface.
